FAQ for Dermal Fillers

How long do the results last?

Most wrinkle reduction patients who receive fillers see visible wrinkle reduction for six months to a year following their initial treatment.

Are there any side-effects associated with Dermal Filler treatment?

Because Dermal Filler treatment results are temporary, there are very few side effects associated with the treatment. Some Dermal Filler patients report temporary redness and minimal swelling or bruising at the injection site that subsides within a couple of days. With any injection there is always the risk of infection or intravascular complications, this would need to be reported as soon as possible and would require additional medical treatment or referral to a specialist.

Are Dermal Filler injections painful?

Dermal Fillers are unique in that they feature the local anesthetic lidocaine as one of the ingredients. The mixture minimizes any pain associated with the procedure. Local or topical anesthetics are available for patient comfort.

Neuromodulators ( such as Botox™) FAQ’s

How many treatments will I need to see results?

Most patients will feel and see visible muscle relaxation within the first few days of their initial treatment. If you have extensive, deep muscle contractions you may require increased amounts for optimal results. Because the body eventually absorbs the injected material, repeat treatments are necessary every few months to maintain muscle relaxation.

Are Neuromodulator treatments painful?

Discomfort is minimal and brief with injections. Once the injections are complete, there is usually no discomfort.

Will my lines look worse if I choose not to continue with treatments?

No. Your lines gradually revert to their pre-treatment appearance if you decide to forego additional treatment.
