Meet the team
Dr. Lorne C. Poon
Director – M.D., B.MSc., C.C.F.P., F.C.F.P. F.C.S.P.
Dr. Poon received his MD at the prestigious University of Alberta. Dr. Poon is a long-time member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, the Canadian Society of Phlebology, and the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine. In 2003, his passion for cosmetic medicine led him to extensively begin studying cosmetic procedures including Botox™, dermal fillers, sclerotherapy for varicose veins and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. He has been doing cosmetic injectables for over 18 years, and has done over 27,000 procedures and treated over 50,000 patients.
A leader within the industry, Dr. Poon is a recognized trainer for Allergan, Sigvaris and Servier Pharma. He provides training and education to physicians in Alberta. Dr. Poon is always striving to improve his craft and receives extensive training by world renowned physicians such as Dr. De Maio, Dr. Jean Carruthers, Dr. Kent Remington, Dr. Vince Bertucci, and Dr. Jon Arlette. He has also been invited to exclusive and extensive training sessions and lectures, including Allergan’s “Medical International Expert Summit” and annual “Face” meetings.
In 2011, he received a fellowship with the Canadian Society of Phlebology in recognition for his training with the Society. He successfully completed the Advanced Neuromodulator and Dermal Filler Techniques course- Level 3 with the top international trainers from the Aesthetic Academy in February 2014 in San Francisco. He completed a course on Laser and Aesthetic Skin Therapy with the Harvard Medical School in Boston in October 2015. He also completed an advanced course on the Principles of the Obagi Skin Health Restoration, ZO controlled depth peel and artistic injection techniques with Dr. Zein Obagi in Beverly Hills in October 2015.
Dr. Poon wants to learn the most advanced and current techniques and products to ensure he provides the best care for his patients and help them look and feel their absolute best.
Since 2009, Dr. Poon has owned and operated New Image Cosmetic and Medical Centre, and oversees all treatments and procedures. Dr. Poon strongly believes in the importance to own and operate a facility that is government certified so he can manage quality care and ensure a safe and assured patient experience.
Dr. Poon has been featured on Fox, CBS, ABC, NBC network affiliates as an expert guest on America’s Premier Experts®, and was quoted in the Wall Street Journal on September 26, 2011.
He is the Co-author of the Book “Champions, Knockout Strategy for Health, Wealth and Success.”
